Typography that builds trust for local businesses

Type does more credibility work than any other design decision. Three principles that separate established-looking businesses from improvised ones.
Commit to a hierarchy
Pick three sizes and stick to them: a headline, a subhead, and body copy. Sites that look amateur almost always have six or seven near-identical sizes competing with each other.
Give body text room to breathe
Body copy should sit around sixteen to eighteen pixels with generous line height and a measure of roughly sixty to seventy-five characters. Long lines of tight text are the fastest way to make a page feel like work.
Use contrast deliberately
Pairing a heavy display face with a calm text face creates hierarchy without color, decoration, or extra elements. It's why magazines still read well at a glance, and it works exactly as well on a service page for a contractor.
