What is AIO? Optimizing for AI answers, not just Google

A growing share of buyers ask an AI assistant before they search. AIO is the practice of making sure the answer it gives about your business is accurate — and yours.
The shift, briefly
Traditional SEO optimizes for a ranked list of links. AI assistants synthesize an answer and cite a handful of sources. If your site isn't structured so a model can extract clean facts from it, you can rank well and still be left out of the answer.
What AIO actually involves
Structured data describing your organization, services, locations, and hours. Unambiguous factual statements placed near the top of the relevant page rather than buried in marketing prose. Consistent business details everywhere you appear online, because contradictions make models hedge.
It also means answering questions completely in one place. A page that fully answers 'how much does a bathroom remodel cost in Katy' is far more citable than five pages that each answer a fifth of it.
How to test where you stand
Ask three or four assistants what your business does, where it's located, and what it charges. Note every wrong or vague answer — each one points at a fact your site states unclearly, states inconsistently, or doesn't state at all.
